This course is designed to teach the student how to operate the semi auto pistol under normal and emergency conditions.
Training goals:
1. Learn how to correctly operate and shoot a semi auto handgun
2. Learn how to manage failure to operate and failure to fire malfunctions
Learn how to prevent semi auto failure problems
Learn how to Identify a specific problem
Learn how to correct the problem
The semi-auto by nature of the action can be subject to certain malfunctions.
In most cases the semi-auto shooter is not prepared to deal with these malfunctions because the person has not been properly trained.
A malfunction on the range is of no immediate concern, but on the street under self defense conditions a malfunction could have disastrous results.
You will understand the operational mechanics of a semi auto handgun, what causes them to jam and fail to fire and how to clear the malfunction.
Learn the techniques
necessary to shoot a semi-auto that will allow you to place multiple shots on a
silhouette target.
The student will practice and have a thorough understanding of tactics and live fire skill before going to the range.
This procedure will be accomplished through the use of simulated training equipment and procedures.
Course content:
Classroom
Semi operating principles
Demonstration and practice range procedures
Safe handling and operation
Recognize how your handgun is loaded correctly and will fire on the first shot.

Range content
Practice and and gain proficiancy with live shooting skills based on simulated practice in classroom.
After range handgun cleaning
The student will disassemble - clean - reassemble
Identify and understand the main operating parts of a semi auto
Perform a "after cleaning" operational check
Total training hours: 5.0
Classroom: 2.5 hours
Range : 2.0 hours

Open class
The class is published and scheduled for open enrollment
Private class
The class is scheduled for you and your group only. This allows the person(s) to establish their own time and day to hold the class.
(Scheduling is based on the availability of the classroom and range)
