The CCW renewal process-  An interesting concept

You are held responsible for knowing all the current laws and acting accordingly. Depending on when your permit is do to expire there could have been laws enacted during the time your permit has been in force that you may not know until you renew. That means you may have been carrying a handgun under the Michigan CPL laws and not know what all the laws are.  You really should be updating yourself when a new law takes effect not after it does. But that is how the systems works. 3 or 5 years may go by and you find out what you might have been missing.  So in reality you might be finding out after the fact, not as it occurs.  Yet you still are liable. Therefore it is important to know what the current laws are, how to use them and how to update yourself in the future.
