Concealed Pistol License Facts

• The license is valid for 5 years
• You must apply for the license in your county of residence
• You can attend any certified CPL class in the state of Michigan (of course we would like you to attend ours)!
• Renewal requires the CPL holder to complete a 3 hour renewal training class.
• You can move anywhere within the state of Michigan and it is not necessary to change the address on your CPL.
•  The CPL a purchase permit.
• With your CPL you can purchase a handgun(s) over the counter at the point of sale.
• All handguns must to be registered. (send in only paper work)
• You can carry more than one handgun!
• You can qualify for the CPL class with any caliber of handgun.
• You are not required to re- qualify or demonstrate proficiency to carry handguns purchased after you qualify for the CPL.

Sec. 5j. (1) A pistol training or safety program described in section 5b(7)(c) meets the requirements for knowledge or training in the safe use and handling of a pistol only if the program consists of 8 hours of instruction and all of the following conditions are met:
